Sooooooo latley I have been inspired by the internet. Perferably a site called Reddit. This site is pretty amazing and is pretty much a huge open forum where people can vote up or down a post depending on if they like it or not. I came across a couple post where people would ask the delivery people for their food to illustrate something. The results were all pretty funny so I decided to try it out myself.

A place called D’Agostino’s here in Chicago definitely won the prize for the beset one I have received yet. With the help of my girlfriend Jessie, we got an illustration of the elusive hipster cat in the raw! Pretty amazing illustration and pretty amazing people for drawing it. Thanks to D’Agostino’s, you all rule life and awesome awesome pizza!

I will have soem more post coming up soon with some thoughts on advertising and some other art and project reviews that I finished up for school recently. Including talks about something called “Sharp Robot” a collective of two awesome individuals. In addition to that, I talk about some of the other recent projects that I have finished and show them off a bit. I talk about the conceptual process and show how I used it for the end result in
the “Hey There Campaign”Last but not least I show my Advance Type book that I had to create for school. I turn the physical and final product into a digital format for people to be able
to experience it on the web as well.

I will be updating this site with some more design stuff that I have been working on soon. In those updates I will be talking about a book I made in relation to some art sculptures around the city of Chicago. I constructed a “city guide” if you will, about how to take some good picture of statues around the city as well on where to find them and some general information on the creator of each one. Each photo in the book was taken with my iPhone and I used the application “CrossProcess” to give a nice old auto chrome effect to each. In addition to some photoshop work it came out great and shows that you can make anything awesome as long as you have the right tools.

As soon as I saw this site I started to think about why it is that I moved to Chicago. I realized that it was to chase my dreams and my career goals, but as I approached moving from Columbia, S.C. I started to think deeper about the reasons for my move. I honestly just wanted to travel and see things that I was unfamiliar with. I have now lived in Chicago for about a year and have huge dreams of moving again when I graduate in MAY from The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. I will be obtaining my Bachelors’ degree and then I plan on traveling for a bit before I work again or go on to get my masters degree.

I figured that the best way to obtain this goal was to incorporate it in my blog and to just promote it as much as I can and to ask for help. I normally don’t ask for help and usually get things on my own terms but this is a bit bigger than me at the moment so I figured what the hell, I might as well as for it and see if anyone can help me out.

If you look to the right you will see a donation button with a progress bar. I set my goal low at first to see if things would take off or not… a little amount of $100 is what I am going for at the moment. I put in the first donation to myself of $1 and want to see where it goes from here. As people start to donate I will be posting their names on the side of this page and on this post, also I will be stating their names in my future brandon explores post to come.

This is a huge dream for me, I feel I have worked really hard towards getting things done and helping others out and feel that I deserve a travel trip after I graduate from this school so this is my attempt and effort towards obtaining what it is that I truly desire. Any help is greatly appreciated and you can donate from $1-to how ever much you please. Also don’t worry you don’t need a paypal account to donate you just follow the prompts after you hit donate and you can donate by any method you choose.

I seriously am sooooo thankful for all the people in my life who have helped motivate me this far and helped me get to Chicago, now I am on to my next adventure of traveling mainly over to Europe when I graduate and hanging for a bit and would love the opportunity to document it as I go! When I was in CaliforniaI had the opportunity to go and shoot some guns with my friends. Thank you to Chris for having us and Chris’s Dad and Danette for hooking us up with a awesome time and an awesome place to stay! This was all in the mountains and was a awesome experience. I am sure this will make my father proud for he is a gun lover and enthusiast. Anyways enjoy the testosterone filled episode, with guns a blazing!

So I have gotten a couple request to update my beer review section of the site. SO here yah go ! I picked up a Two Brothers Double IPA called “Hop Juice” Pretty good stuff overall! I will have some more reviews coming soon including the brewing process and review of “Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA!” So be sure to check back for that soon! Me and my roommate have been cloning that beer and hopping that it comes out good!

Today me and Brian [www.brianexplores.com] toke our bikes down to the lake where there was a Air and Water Show going on here in downtown Chicago! Pretty cool event!! The Blue ANgles set the stage with some super awesome things. It was neat to see the planes traveling faster than the speed of sound. check it out! and get extreme!

This is a quick update from California. Me and my friends drove up the coast from Riverside, CA to Hayward, CA. Hayward is right next to Oakland and right across the bay from San Fran. We saw some of the most amazing views I have ever seen in my life and this is just a quick teaser before I post the full video edited and cut correctly. Enjoy.
